you have too many meetings! 📢 NEW BLOG POST

05-02-2025

Hey Reader,

"The are too many meetings is Scrum". Or so many people say. But in reality, whether you use Scrum or not, you probably have too many meetings.

There are a few things that you can implement to immediately free up your calendar and focus on what's really important. To help you with that, I wrote up a blog post.

In summary, I bring you 5 rules to follow to avoid useless meetings:

  1. A meeting can only happen if it has a clear purpose.
  2. No preparation means no meeting.
  3. The work must happen IN the meeting.
  4. Ppen conversation is not a way to run any meeting.
  5. The timebox IS the timebox.

Read up on what those rules mean and how to implement them in my recent blog post "5 rules to follow to avoid useless meetings".

Make every meeting useful

I wanted to make a new video for you... I scripted it. I filmed it. And then I started editing it, and it was awful! I guess if you stop doing something for long enough, you kind of lose your skills.

Anyway, I thought that the content was still useful and important, and I wanted to share it nonetheless. I probably will make a video on this topic later, but you don't have to wait for it :)

Thank you for reading. I hope you learned something new! Cheers,

05-02-2025 Hey Reader, I just wanted to send you a quick note to let you know that I've just scheduled some classes for the beginning of 2025 and I hope to see you there. At the end of the last year, I run a PSM and a PSM-A classes, and we had a blast. It was definitely a great opportunity for the students, but also for me, to learn from each other and share experiences. Check the upcoming schedule and enroll in the upcoming class. I have a class for everyone, no matter what stage of your...

05-02-2025 Hey Reader, .It's the beginning of a new year. We now have an opportunity to look back at 2024 and think about what we learned and what we can do differently in the future. To get us started on the right foot, I've decided to give you some food for thought based on the findings of the latest DORA report that came out on November 20th, 2024. The findings from this research are insightful, as usual. It touches on some technical aspects as well that can be a great addition to your...

05-02-2025 Hey Reader, I've got a new video for you. Yes, I sent you an email last week about this topic already since I posted it in a blog post. BUT... I updated the text and included so much more information in it to give you even more actionable steps to take to improve your meetings. And I also have filmed a video for you 🎥. Writing an attendee story One of the things that I added a ton about is the attendee story, or really, how to write a better more useless agenda for your meetings. I...
