What's new?Hey Reader, I'm not always talking about what's been going on in my blog or my YouTube channel, so I thought I'd start sending you recaps of the posts and discussions from the past month. We're a bit late with the month of September since it's our first issue. But here you go... Just a FYI - you can update your preferences to receive only the emails you'd like. This one you're reading right now is part of the monthly updates featuring new posts and videos. New episodes in the Agile Audit podcastThis month we've released two new episodes Btw, did you know that you can join our podcast as a guest??? We'd love to hear from you.
New videos and blog postsIn addition to our podcast episodes, we had a couple of new videos, of course. Ranting about Scrum haters on a streamThis month I did another stream where we talked about a small post that kind of went viral in the community. I shared an email about it already. But I also jumped on a stream to share my thoughts on the subject and to share other similar posts. β Recent store updatesIn case you missed the updates we've made to the old product and the new products we've added, here's a quick recap: Quote of the monthThis one comes from the DevOps Handbook that I've been reading for the past month. Dr. Sidney Dekker, who helped codify some of the key elements of safety culture and coined the term just culture, writes: When responses to incidents and accidents are seen as unjust, it can impede safety investigations, promoting fear rather than mindfulness in people who do safety-critical work, making organizations more bureaucratic rather than more careful, and cultivating professional secrecy, evasion, and self-protection. β What's next?In the upcoming videos, I'm thinking of posting about a new tool for remote collaboration. It's going to be a tutorial and review of the tool called FigJam, from the creators of Figma. I'm also working on a comprehensive video on DevOps from a non-technical perspective. I really want to get it out next week, but I also want to meet up with a couple of experts to include that in the video, so it may actually take more time. There's also something in the works on OKRs - objectives and key results. In the products domain, I'm working on adding a couple of new things to the Scrum Master Startup Guide and I'm also thinking about releasing a new product related to new team members onboarding. Stay tuned for that and more! Yup, I think this is all I wanted to share with you. Talk to you next week. (I'm skipping my personal stories email this week) β |

21-12-2024 Hey Reader, I've got a new video for you. Yes, I sent you an email last week about this topic already since I posted it in a blog post. BUT... I updated the text and included so much more information in it to give you even more actionable steps to take to improve your meetings. And I also have filmed a video for you π₯. Writing an attendee story One of the things that I added a ton about is the attendee story, or really, how to write a better more useless agenda for your meetings. I...
21-12-2024 Hey Reader, "The are too many meetings is Scrum". Or so many people say. But in reality, whether you use Scrum or not, you probably have too many meetings. There are a few things that you can implement to immediately free up your calendar and focus on what's really important. To help you with that, I wrote up a blog post. In summary, I bring you 5 rules to follow to avoid useless meetings: A meeting can only happen if it has a clear purpose. No preparation means no meeting. The...
21-12-2024 Hey Reader, Today I wanted to talk to you about a topic that has been on my radar for the last several months. And the more I look into it, the more I want to discuss it. Luckily, I got a chance to deep-dive into this topic with Mark Metze during the recording of a podcast episode for Agile Within. The topic is "how much technical knowledge do you need to be a successful Scrum Master (or Agile Leader in general)". I'm sharing a part of that podcast with my answers to Mark's...
